Unit of Inquiry #6: How We Organize Ourselves -The Exhibition Unit
Usually the Central Idea, Lines of Inquiry, Key Concepts, and Related Concepts are designed or decided by the teachers. However, for the Primary School Exhibition Unit, the students design the whole format. The teacher plays the role of guide. Quite present in the beginning with lessons, assignments, and directions. But, slowing slips into the background allowing the students to take control of every aspect of their project; the teacher continues as a mentor and resource during this process.
In this unit the students have had full autonomy over the direction of their investigation based on the economy. As an aid in the learning process The Giggling Students have chosen to start a company called Senses, selling products that stimulate or relax the senses. Below is the inquiry structure they have agreed upon as a class:

Teamwork can help people make a business successful.
